Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe Act 1976 can apply for a caste
applicant should put up his/her application at the e-Suvidha Centres situated
in the Offices of Sub-Divisional Magistrates, where the applicant permanently
resides, on any working day and obtain an Acknowledgement Receipt for the same.
The applicant is also given a delivery date for his/her Certificate, which is
printed on the Receipt.
a Community Certificate, issued by the Block/ State Level Caste Committees, is
required to substantiate the applicant's claim for Caste Certificate. These
committees are constituted by the State Government with due representation from
all castes (Communities) and are required to keep community vigil over issuing
of caste certificates.
addition, the issuing authority, at his discretion may initiate Field Enquiry
by the relevant Tehsil/ Revenue Inspector/ Deputy Collector & Magistrate on
the merit of application. Alternatively, the applicant may also obtain the
Community Certificate and submit his application at the Tehsil after obtaining
a receipt of the same.
