Eligibility
Driving
licence can be obtained from the RTO office for all categories of vehicle.
Anyone can obtain a driving licence, provided he/she has already obtained a
learner's licence. Even the minors can apply provided their parents' consent is
available. After one month of obtaining learner's licence, one can apply for a
driving licence.
Procedure

For
Learner's Licence:
One has to fill up the form which can be purchased at the cost of Rs.15 from
the RTO's office. A medical fitness certificate has to be obtained from the
medical authority. Two passport sized photographs are also required. A Bank
Receipt of the amount for the category you have applied for has to be obtained.
With these documents one has to visit the RTO office and after the documents
have been checked by the concerned officer, the required details will be filled
in another form which will be sent to the Computer Section. Here, detailed
information will be entered into the computer, a photograph will be taken by a
digital camera and the final learner's licence will be given. One has to pay
Rs.40/- at the Computer Section.

For
Driving Licence:
You must have obtained your learner's licence a month ago. Get the required
form from the RTO office after paying Rs.5/-. Get the required Bank Receipt for
the category of vehicles you have applied for. This amount can be known from
the form counter. With duly filled forms on which a photograph is pasted,
submit the form to the RTO office. Once your driving test has been taken by the
MVI, you can obtain the driving licence from the Computer Section after paying
Rs. 200 for the smart card driving licence.
