4. Case-law on section 9.-

Some of the important decisions under section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 have been studied by us.1 The need for formal appointment of a Sessions Judge under section 9(1) is discussed at length in a Bombay case2, which came before the High Court at three stages.
