7.55. Proof of mens rea facilitated.-

The actus reus of obtaining useful information may, in short, be evidenced by attempted communication with the person reasonably suspected of being a foreign agent. Proof of the mens rea is facilitated by allowing, in evidence1, statements of the accused's past behaviour and character, under section 3(2).
