3.15. Subordination of women not approved in some sayings.-

But, even during this period, one comes across sayings not implying the subordination of women and pointing to a more enlightened opinion.1 In the Mahabharata, for example, a unique place is assigned to Saraswati, who is described as "Mother of the Vedas".2
