3.11. to 3.13. Social status.-

No doubt, some deterioration in the social status of women did take place in the second period. But, still, the position of Indian women compared favourably with women in other countries. In fact, while, in the first period, women bad certain disabilities regarding property, in the second period the position improved in this regard, at least as regards marriage gifts of movable property.1
