Clause 23

This provides that the subject-matter must be designated with reasonable certainty. The "subject-matter" is not the same thing as the "interest of the assured", as is made clear by sub-section (2). Further, regard must be had to usage as is made clear by subsection (4). Thus, "cargo" would not include live animals and "goods" would not include passengers' luggage.
