48. Penalties for providing or using DNA sample or result without authorization.

Whoever knowingly provides a DNA sample or result thereof in any manner to any person not authorised to receive it, or obtains or uses, without authorisation, such sample or result of DNA analysis, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and also with fine which may extend to one lakh rupees.
