The Wrongful Death Bill, 1985
1. Short title, extent, commencement and application.-
(1) This Act may be called the Wrongful Death Act, 1985.
(2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf, but shall not apply to any cause of action arising on a death which occurred before its commencement1
