1.2. Result of survey of public sector undertakings highlights magnitude of problem.-

A survey of arrears in clearance of claims arising in the context of retirement or death of employees of 62 public sector undertakings made by the Commission disclosed that as many as 8,707 families were suffering hardship caused by delays exceeding six months.
