16. Interest in cases where possession not taken within specified time.-
Where the Collector does not, within the period specified in sub-section (4) of section 8, take possession of the land, the date on which the said period expires shall, for the purposes of sections 14 and 15, be deemed to be the date in which possession of the land is taken by the Collector.
