Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976
14. Standard unit of weight or measure. -
(1) The base unit of mass specified in Sec. 6 and base units of measures specified in Sec. 5 and Sees. 7 to 11 (both inclusive) and the supplementary and other units specified by rules made under Sec. 12, shall be the standard units of weight or measure, as the case may be.
(2) The units of numeration specified by or under Sec. 13 shall be the standard units of numeration.
