15. Tenure of service of officers and sailors.

(1) Every Officer and 2[sailor] shall hold office during the pleasure of the President.

(2) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations made thereunder,

(a) the Central Government may 3[dismiss or] discharge or retire from the naval service any officer or 2[sailor];

(b) the Chief of the Naval Staff or any prescribed officer may 1[dismiss or] discharge from the naval service any 2[sailor].
