34. Composition of offences.
1[(1) Any offence made punishable by or under this Act may, either before or after the institution of proceedings, be compounded
(i) in the case of an offence referred to in sub-section (2) of section 49, by the 2[Lieutenant Governor] of the 3[National Capital territory of Delhi] or any officer authorised by him in this behalf by general or special order; and
(ii) in any other case, by the Authority or, as the case may be, the local authority concerned or any person authorised by the Authority or such local authority by general or special order in this behalf.]
(2) Where an offence has been compounded, the offender, if in custody shall be discharged and no further proceedings shall be taken against him in respect of the offence compounded.
