Census Act, 1948

1. Short title and extent:-

(1) This Act may be called the Census Act, 1948.

[(2) It extends to the whole of India {Subs. by Act 51 of 1950, s.2, for "except the States of Hyderabad, Jammu and Kashmir, Mysore and Travancore -Cochin ".} [ except the State of Jammu and Kashmir ].]
