The institute is one of the biggest associate college of Lucknow University and has been catering to the educational needs of students aspiring for quality education in science, arts, education, management and law subjects for the last many years.
Academic Seminars of National and International levels held at the institution from time to time expose the students to experts in various subjects.
Having come into existence about seventy years ago, the institution has pursued the twin motto of imparting quality instruction in different subjects and inculcating in the students values of integrity, compassion and reverence. Founded in 1917, as a modest Anglo-Sanskrit, School, this premier institute of U.P. marched from strength to strength ever since them.
It was upgraded to a middle school in 1918, high school 1920, intermediate college in 1923, a degree college in 1946, a full fledged degree college (Arts, Science, Commerce faculties) in 1954.
Today it is the biggest associated college of Lucknow University catering to the needs 9000 students at graduate and post-graduate levels with five faculties namely Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, B. Ed. and B. P. Ed. and a staff of over 400.
