The main object of Legal education is to impart the knowledge of Law and the technique of its interpretation, development and application while the object of postgraduate study in law is to promote legal scholarship which will undertake a continuing critical assessment of the legal system relating to social policy so as to fulfill the noes, demands and claims of the Society under changed circumstances.
Law is used as an important instrument of social change. Therefore, there is need of legal scholars who shall interpret law to society and society to law to facilitate the interaction between law and social change.
Legal Education ought to impart an insight into the social purposes of law so that the Lawyers, the Judges and the Legislators will be able to play a more constructive role in using law as an instrument of social change. Considering these objectives and the importance of legal education, our University provided the facility of post graduate studies in Law (LL.M.).
