The Law institution, Dayanand Education Society is a Public Charitable trust managed by a democratically elected body consisting of 28 members containing the government council for framing institutional policies .Out of the 28 members 9 members constitute the working committee for day to day management. Dayanand College of Law, Latur is established in the year 1971.
It is one of the prominent and pioneer institutions in Maharashtra imparting legal education. The college was established by the Dayanand Education Society, Latur for the purpose of imparting higher education in law, in an educationally and economically backward area of Latur and place of Marathwada region.
Dayanand College of Law was started in the year 1971 under Principal ship of an eminent scholar in law Dr. Shivaraj Nakade, with strength of 178 students. Now it has attained a unique status in Marathwada area with LL.B. (Three Years), B.S.L. (Five Years), LL.M. and D.T.L. courses comprising of a grandeur and enviable total strength of about 1000 students.
The college was first affiliated to Marathwada University, Aurangabad (Now renamed as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad) and thereafter since 1995 it has been affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded.
It is to be noted that, the college is having a rich tradition of producing eminent scholars and has been maintaining its magnum and marching ahead with the other colleges in Marathwada. The college is permanently affiliated and included in Section 2(f) of University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
