College Information:
The Students Bar Association(SBA) of the Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College is a voluntary union of Law students seeking to provide leadership & organisational training to the members and to serve as a forum for education and service outside the formal academic programs of the college. All students of the college belong to this body. English is the language of the Court, Legislature and legal Profession.
The large number of students are coming from rural areas and most of them have a medium of instruction other than English. These students generally are exposed to a problem of speaking and writing proper English. This becomes an obstacle in their understanding and effective participation in the class.
The College conducts special classes of English for such students. It further provides opportunities for public service, for developing useful professional contacts and for relating theoretical knowledge obtained in the library and the class room to social realities and social change.
Under the legal literacy programme, the students under the supervision of concerned teacher are asked to teach/conduct classes in middle schools or High Schools in rural and urban area on the aspects of Constitutional Law including Fundamental rights, Fundamental duties and rights and obligation of Indian citizens.
The moot court society, a major activity of the student Bar Association provides for an opportunity to the student to learn, acquire and practice layering skills through organizing and participating in Moot Courts, Mock trials, etc. at intra class and inter class Moot Court Competition.
The students of the college won several moot court competition organized by different universities and Law Colleges. The college won second position at 9th State Level Moot Court Competition organized by Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. The students got the prize at Bombay, Baramati, and Goa Moot Court Competitions.
