The Department of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Law was established in 1982 to provide qualitative legal education and research .It has well equipped , furnished , spacious building, library having large numbers ofbooks,journals,periodicals and others literatures along with computer internet facilities. It is imparting legal education using modern techniques.
It offers B.A.LL.B (Hons), LL.M. & Ph.D. Degree in Law along with vocational Post Graduate Diploma.The weekly presentation and transparent monthly tests are mandatory and added features of these courses. It will cultivate and infiltrate legal aptitude of the students aiming to make them excellent advocates and legal human resources who would act as champions for law and justice.
The unique feature of the department is campus placement which is rare in most of the State Universities in India. The department has undertaken collaborative research programmes with National Judicial Academy, Ministry of Justice, UNDP, British Council aried American Centre. Praiseworthy performance has been exhibited by the students of this department in various All India Moot Court Competitions.
