College Information:
The Government Law College, Thrissur started in the year 1992 . It is the forth Government Law College in the State and is affiliated to the University of Calicut.
The need for starting a Government Law College at Thrissur was deeply felt by the educationists, intellectuals, lawyers and other eminent personalities of Thrissur in 1970 itself.
The first batch of Law Graduates came out in 1993-94 academic year. Sri. R. Muthukrishnan, Chairman, Bar Council of India and Sri Gopakumaran Nair, the Local Member visited the college on 27-3-1995 and affiliation of the college was approved by the Bar Council of India.

The candidates who have passed an examination of 10+2 course of schooling recognized by the educational authority of the Central or the State Government or possess such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to such 10+2 course by the Bar Council of India can apply for admission to the five year LL. B. course.
The candidates who have passed the Pre-degree examination of the Universities in Kerala in any discipline or any other examination recognized by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto are also eligible for admission.
No student shall be admitted to the course unless he/she has obtained 40% marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination. In the case of S.Cs./S.Ts., a relaxation of marks upto 5% in the qualifying examination will be given. |
