The Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society was formed in the year 1958 under the aegis of Late Sri Mahadebappa Rampure to provide facilities for higher education in various faculties of Arts, Science, Law, Medicine and Engineering to the people of Karnataka in general and the people of Hyderabad Karnataka area in particular. The Society has ushered a vibrant renaissance movement and brought this area to the limelight at the State and National level. Today the society has a creditable achievement of managing more than 33 educational institutions in Karnataka State.Sri Rameschandra Lahoti a noted industrialist of this area donated a generous sum of starting the Law College to perpetuate the memory of his father Late Sri Shankar Lal Lahoti. The college was started in the year 1960 and was named as "Seth Shankar Lal Lahoti Law College".The seed thus sown began to sown to grow into a huge tree sheltering the many souls with intense thirst for legal knowledge.

Candidates seeking admission to the Law Course should have passed in examination in 10 + 2 course of schooling recognized by the educational authorities of the Central of the .State Governments or possesses such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to such 10+2 courses by the Bar Council of India and should have secured a minimum of 45% marks at the Final examinations of the said programme of schooling. However, 5% relaxation of marks is allowed in respect of those who qualifying at the entrance examination for admission at First Year of the LL.B. 5 years course. |

The Duration of the Course, leading to Bachelor's Degree in Law ( LL.B) shall be of X semesters ( 5 years ).A student who successfully completes the I to VI Semester shall be eligible for the award of the Degree of Bachelor in Academic Law ( ie. B.A. Law ) .A student who successfully completes the X semesters shall be eligible for the Award of the Degree of LL.B.The teaching and instruction shall be in accordance with the Bar Council of India Rules.
