College Information:
      The Law College Dhanbad was established in the year 1976 in the premises of the H. E. School, Hirapur, Dhanbad.

The College was affiliated to the Ranchi University, Ranchi due to the persistent efforts of Late B. B. Mahato, Late R. L. Choudhary and Late J. B. Lala from the session 1979-80 and it remained affiliated to Ranchi University till the establishment of Vinoba Bhave University by the legislature of Bihar under the Provisions of the Bihar State Universities Act 1976.

The College is now permanently affiliated to V.B.U. Hazaribag. The establishment of VBU was notified in the Bihar Gazette on 11.11.1992 vide letter no. 15/A-3166/92 Manav Sansadhan Bibhag 799 and all the Colleges under the territorial jurisdiction of North Chhotanagpur Division came under the Statutory jurisdiction of the VBU.

The Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi which co-ordinates with its member Universities for equivalence of degree conferred by University vide its Letter No. EV/11/80/93/183875, dt. 15th Jan., 93 has requested all the Universities to accord recognition and equivalence to VBU degrees and examinations.

The name of VBU stands at Sl. No. 211 in the Directory of the University Institutions of India published by the A.I.U. Regarding recognition of the VBU Hazaribg by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, the under Secretary UGC vide Letter No. F96/92(CPP) dt. 26th May, 1993 informed the Registrar VBU that 'Vinoba Bhave University' Hazaribag (Bihar) now Jharkhand has come into existence on 17th September, 1992 and a statutory University created by an Act of the Bihar Legislature.

Course Eligibility: The graduates (Three Year Pass/Hons. degree course) of Govt. recognised Universities who have gone through the 10+2+3 system only will be eligible to appear at the Admission Test which will be held to select candidates for admission to LL.B. Part-I in this College.

Course Description:
The academic session / year starts from the month of June every year and ends in May next year.

A student admitted in one session will have to attend the required 66% attendance in General, Tutorial and Moot Court classes subject to the condition that he/she will have to attend the minimum number of 50 General, 13 Tutorial and 9 Moot Court and Practical classes before he/she could be admitted in the succeeding part in the next session and if he/she fails to take admission within the time limit prescribed by the College, he/she forfeits his/her right for admission.

In other words a student admitted in one part of the LL.B. Course ceases to be a regular student of the College on the completion of the academic session/year and he/she is bound to take his/her admission in the next academic session/year within the prescribed time on fulfilment of the norms of University and College and payment of fee etc.

A student who has not completed a regular course as mentioned above will not be eligible for appearing at the University Examination in that course. He will have to take readmission in the course.
