With the down of independence large number of educational institutions came up in Muzaffarppur, and north Bihar with munificence of eminent social personalities.
Shri L. P. Shahi & Shri Mahesh Prasad Singh were the mentor of the idea of establishing an institution in the field of legal education. The idea received overwhelming support of some legal luminaries. And thus the era witnessed the birth of S. K. J. Law College.
The institution started taking up the shape with the support of eminent local lawyers who agreed to render their support by way of imparting legal education to students on a honorary basis for 2 years in the make shift arrangement at B.B. Collegiate School.
With the mobilization of funds by Babu Mahesh Prasad Singh, MLA, L. P. Shahi as Vice Chairman of District Board and some social activists the first infrastructure was set up in the same school campus.
