Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was conferred the status of Deemed to be University u/s 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in the year 2008 and since then, it has been contributing significantly to the society as an Institute for higher learning and research in the field of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing.

CARE has been approved by MCI, INC, TNNMC, AICTE, COA, BCI and PCI, accredited with grade 'A++' by NAAC, conferred with 12B status by UGC, accorded SIRO status by DSIR, awarded a star by MHRD's Innovation Cell, appreciated by AICTE for Clean & Smart Campus and ranks 9th in the Country according to UI Green Metric.

In alignment with the motto of the University, "Capability, Character and Commitment", the academic programs offered are professional, job oriented and innovative. CARE offers 74 Academic programs in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (AHS), Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Commerce and Law. Most of the programmes offered are interdisciplinary and are as per the emerging needs. Currently, CARE has about 2500+ students pursuing their UG, PG and Ph.D. education. First-generation graduates from rural and semi-urban areas contribute to a significant proportion of our students. CARE offers excellent teaching with latest teaching aids and methods. The Intellectual Capital of CARE comprises of qualified, accomplished and committed teachers and a well-stocked Library with books, journals, E-resources and database that form the back bone of the CARE. Faculty update their knowledge on contemporary teaching learning techniques through faculty development programs, workshops and CMEs.

1. BA LLB

This is an integrated program specially designed not only with the objective of providing extensive legal knowledge but also teaching subjects such as English, Criminology, Political Science and History. The courses that are taught enable the students to understand how the governments function and how legislation is enacted and enforced and also help them to make professional choices in a number of fields.

2. BBA LLB

This program emphasizes on providing an integrated understanding of law in an environment of Financial Management, Business Administration, and other managerial concepts. It ensures that the leadership skills in business world develop general management skills which are acquired by the students.

It also helps the students to critically analyse the business problems and challenges, build decision making skills and understand the functional aspects of an organization. Moreover the program will also prepare students to recognize Business legal interface, understand and exploit opportunities in Management Profession that has legal implications.

3. BCom LLB

The B.Com degree course includes evolving and applying the concepts, subjects related to commerce along with the in-depth understanding and applicability of law. This course prepares students to become legal advisors, officers to businesses, to business-oriented NGOs, and to government entities.

The structure of the course will equip the students to accept the challenges of the 21st century. The B.Com.LL.B(Hons.) Program is offered with the cogitation of the new business scenario which has totally changed with the Economic Policy of Liberalization and Privatization during the last decade along with its implication and scope on legal domain.

4. LLB

This course emphasizes an understanding of law in totality. It aims to encourage a broad outlook on legal issues, an understanding of the functions of law and of the legal system. This course familiarizes students with the latest pedagogy and legal research of both national and international issues keeping in view the different types of legal systems, especially in Common Law traditions as well as Civil Law system as practiced in India.
