CUSAT - Summer School on Consumer and Competition Law
The Centre for Consumer and Competition Law at School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala is going to organize a one week Annual Summer School on Consumer and Competition Law.
Date: 9th - 15th June, 2018
Venue: School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala
Who can apply?
This summer school is open to all academicians, researchers, practitioners and students pursuing under-graduate and post-graduate law courses and allied disciplines.
Tentative Topics for Discussion:
- Competition Law: Basics
- History of Competition Law
- Anti-Competitive Agreements
- Abuse of Dominance
- Regulation of Combinations
- Enforcement of Competition Law
- History of Consumer Law
- Concept of Consumer & Rights of Consumer
- Defect & Deficiency
- Enforcement
Attendance and Final Evaluation:
Classes will be held 5 days a week from 09:45 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. The participants are required to attend all classes and the attendance is compulsory for the purpose of evaluation. An examination shall also be conducted on completion of the summer school and a certificate of participation and merit will be provided to all the participants. Details about the mode of examination shall be communicated to the selected participants.
How to apply:
Interested candidates are required to fill up the Application Form and send the same, along with the receipt of payment of registration fee to cccl@cusat.ac.in on or before 20th May, 2018.
Registration Fee:
- Students / Research Scholars:
- With accommodation: Rs. 2000/-
- Without accommodation: Rs. 1000/-
- All Other Categories:
- With accommodation: Rs. 3000/-
- Without accommodation: Rs. 2000/-
Registration fees include accommodation, lunch for all event days, tea & snacks.
Accommodation:
Modest accommodation will be provided to all outstation participants on twin / triple sharing basis either in the University Guest House / nearby hotels.

The last date for registration is 20th May, 2018.
