National Conference on Socio-Legal Rights of the Woman: The Implementation Conundrum

Amity Law School is going to organize the National Conference on Socio-Legal Rights of the Woman: The Implementation Conundrum.

Date: 9th & 10th February, 2018
Venue: Amity Law School, Amity University, Rajasthan

This Conference is intended to cause sincere reflections on the issues, which have been discoursing stock since the starting of 21st Century. For centuries women were not treated equal to men in many ways. Apart from experiencing gendered discrimination, they face double discrimination being members of specific caste, class or ethnic group. They have line control on the properties and on essential decisions related to their lives.

Though there are various constitutional and statutory provisions supporting women's right in India but they are not properly implemented. Has the implementation of women's right really worked out in respect of their personal as well as matrimonial, property and others rights which are provided by Indian Constitution and other Acts?

There are few factors which come in the way of proper implementation. The main objective of this National Conference is to get the comprehensive understanding of socio-cultural attitude conflicting with the legislations supporting women's and aged people's right and discuss about societal and power relations that define and influence women's and aged people's ability to enjoy their rights.

Call for Papers:

Submission Guidelines:
The Abstract of the paper should contain 300 - 500 words accompanied by the brief profile of the Author indicating:

  • Theme
  • Title of Paper
  • Name of Author(s)
  • Email Address
  • Postal Address and Contact Number

Full Research Paper:

  • Full Paper should not exceed 4000 words (including tables, exhibits, references and appendices.)
  • Co-authorship is permitted with a maximum of two Authors only.
  • Registration fee as per each Author
  • In case of co-authorship at least one Author must attend the conference to present the paper.
  • The main text should be in Times New Roman with font size 12 pt and spacing of 1.5 on A4 size paper with 1" margin on all sides using MS Word application.
  • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, foot size 10 pt with single line spacing.
  • Citation Style: The Bluebook (20th Edition)

Abstract of the paper should be submitted to on or before 15th December, 2017 and it will be reviewed by the review panel.

Full Paper:
Soft copy of the full paper along with Abstract should be submitted via email to on or before 15th January, 2018. A hard copy of the full paper along with the registration form should be brought on the day of the conference.

Mode of Payment:
Payment can be made through PayTM / Demand Draft (Le. should be mentioned in Registration Form)

Note: Registration Fees is not refundable. The University will not provide the TA/DA

  • Registration fees include Conference Kit, Lunch / Tea (for all participants) and Dinner (who opt for residence).
  • The Conference proceeding shall be published in a Souvenir with the Abstracts of the selected papers.
  • All delegates are requested to bring one hardcopy of the original full paper and ID Proof.

The Demand Draft is to be made in favor of "Amity University Rajasthan" and payable at Jaipur. Kindly contact for further clarification regarding the conference.
