University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES)

Admission Criteria for Academic Year 2010 - 2011
Candidates applying for B. Tech. Courses / Integrated LLB Course will have to pay an additional fees of Rs.500 towards UPES entrance examination along with Prospectus fees i.e. (Rs.1100 Prospectus fee +Rs.500 Examination Fee)=Rs.1600/- (Rs.1700, if required through post or courier).

B. Tech (Energy Technology + LLB with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights)
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th). Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level also mandatory.
Duration: 6 Years
Campus: Dehradun
Admission Criteria: UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) + Central Counseling.
Candidates can collect UPES Prospectus & Application form by sending a demand draft in favor of "UPES Fee Account", payable at New Delhi/ Dehradun along with request letter or by Cash payment from admission counters at Delhi/ Dehradun/ Mumbai/ Ahmedabad/ Chandigarh/ Kolkata.

Duration: 6 Years
Campus: Dehradun

5 years Integrated BA LL.B. (Approved by Bar Council of India) & 5 years Integrated BBA LL.B. (Approved by Bar Council of India)
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 50% Marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
Admission Criteria: UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT) followed by Group Discussion & Interview. Student with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLAT ranking up to 1500 will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview (upt o 20% of Seats). In the event, less number of candidates meets the above requirement the remaining seats will be filled through UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT).

LLM with specialization in Energy Laws
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th). Degree in Law from Recognized University with Minimum 50% marks
Duration: 2 Years
Admission Criteria: Screening of Application & Interview. Student with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLAT ranking up to 1500 will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview (up to 20% of Seats). In the event, less number of candidates meets the above requirement the remaining seats will be filled through UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT).

B.TECH (UPESEAT) / LLB (UL-SAT) Test Details
Last date to receive the filled application (OMR Form/ Online) is 1st May 2010. On the basis of information in the OMR Application form, admit card of provisionally eligible candidates will be uploaded on the University website www.upes.ac.in on 15 May, 2010. Candidates are required to download the admit card accordingly. The duly completed downloaded admit card with photograph affixed (duly attested) in the space provided will have to be produced at the allotted test centre.
Candidates without the admit card or card without the photograph will NOT be permitted to take the test.
Eligibility: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1988 are eligible for B.Tech & Integrated LLB Programs. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ University certificate only will be taken as authentic.
