CIRC-NLUD Certificate / Diploma Courses on Competition Policy & Law

The enforcement of Competition Law and its pervasive presence across the sectors and business functions is creating a high demand for competition compliance. This has led CIRC and NLU, Delhi to collaborate to offer these courses on Competition Policy and Law (CPL).

CPL courses are specially designed for practitioners, working professionals and students of Law, Business Management, Economics, Chartered Accountancy (CA) and Company Secretaryship (CS), to acquire deep understanding and knowledge of competition law and related issues.

Two courses are being offered by CUTS Institute for Regulation & Competition (CIRC) and National Law University, Delhi (NLUD).

  • Certificate Course on Competition Policy and Law
  • Diploma Course on Competition Policy and Law

The Certificate Course in Competition Policy and Law is a fundamental course dealing primarily with markets and business laws, competition policy and law, in general, and the Competition Act, 2002 as amended in detail. The certificate course also covers fundamentals of Economics essential for studying Competition Law.

The Diploma Course in Competition Policy and Law is an advanced course dealing, in detail, with topics related to abuse of dominance, anti-competitive agreements, and regulation of combination across select jurisdictions. The participants of Diploma course are exposed to emerging issues such as: interface between IPRs and competition law, cross border issues, and issues related to business strategy.

The courses, duly accredited by the National Law University, Delhi, are designed to deliver knowledge and skills relating to Competition Policy and Law to the participants and open up new employment opportunities in Competition Authorities, Regulatory Bodies, Law Firms, Businesses, Research Bodies, etc.

The classes will be scheduled on weekends.

Certificate Course in Competition Policy and Law

Applicant must have completed 10+2 from any recognised board.

Diploma Course in Competition Policy and Law

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University; or Students in final year of Graduation; or Students who have completed three years of graduation programme of five year integrated programme.

One Year

INR 25,000 for Indian Participants

US $650 for Overseas Participants

Overseas applicants are required to pay their fee through wire transfer. Indian Applicants need to send Demand Drafts / Cheques of the fee amount in favor of "National Law University, Delhi" payable at New Delhi with following options:

  • Admission in Certificate Course:
    Participants are required to pay the entire amount of INR 15,000 at the time of admission*

  • Admission in Diploma Course:
    Participants are required to pay the entire amount of INR. 25,000 at the time of admission*

*Payment of Fee in installment is subject to prior consultation and approval from CIRC.

Scholarships:
Fee waiver of 30% in the form of refund will be provided to NLUD students applying for these courses in every intake. The refund shall be given after successful completion of the course. The decision regarding the selection of students for the fee waiver will be taken jointly by CIRC and NLUD on need cum merit basis.

For full-time staff members of CIRC and NLUD in every intake, scholarships amounting to 30% fee waiver to each student in form of refund after successful completion of the course.

Applicants can download the application form from www.circ.in/cpl/ or contact CIRC, New Delhi for getting it. Applications complete in all respects can be submitted either in person or sent by post, to CIRC or NLUD.

The last date for submission of application is 22nd September, 2017.
