National Conference on Sustainability and Gender Connection

Centre for Studies in Banking and Finance, National Law University, Jodhpur is going to organize a National Conference on Sustainability and Gender Connection

Date: 29th - 30th January, 2016

Nature and mother are inseparable and hence called 'mother nature'. Mother creates and nature sustains. As the manager of household or 'oikonomos', mother gives birth to 'Economics'. The major source of funds for financial industry is household savings. If women lag behind in terms of freedom and power, mankind cannot progress. Hence is the connection between sustainability and gender.

Call for Papers:
Centre for Studies in Banking and Finance (CSBF), established by the Reserve Bank of India at National Law University, Jodhpur invites papers from academics, professionals, NGOs, policy makers, regulators and researchers for the 'National Conference on Sustainability and Gender Connection' on 29th - 30th January, 2016.

The major areas to be covered are role of women in

  • Women in Strategy formulation in Financial Business

  • Women in Public Finance
  • Women in Self-government Finance
  • Gender bias in Banks and Financial Institutions as Employers
  • Financial Literacy of Women
  • Participation of women in Financial Education - as Teacher/Student

The papers would be screened through blind review process. The format of the paper would be same as the special articles in Economic and Political Weekly. Word limit is minimum 3,000 and up to 4,000. APA citation style is prescribed. Online publication of the previous version of the paper as working paper, say, 'MPRA Paper' or 'Econpaper' would be appreciated. The CSBF has zero tolerance for plagiarism and therefore plans to publish the papers of the Conference. Participation in this Conference means that the selected authors give consent to NLUJ for one-time publication with ISSN/ISBN and the papers need to be their original works. In order to observe academic honesty and avoid conflicts of interests the CSBF does not accept papers from anybody directly or indirectly connected to NLUJ.

Registration Fees:

  • Researchers: early bird 8000 INR on or before due date and 9000 INR after due date
  • Others: 9000 INR on or before due date and 10000 INR after due date

The fees cover accommodation and food from evening of 28th January, 2016 to the morning of 31st January, 2016.

The fees are to be paid by DD favouring 'Registrar, National Law University, Jodhpur'. The envelope containing the DD should be superscribed with "CSBF Conference". The participant needs to mention her/his name and the purpose "CSBF Conference Fee" on the back of the DD.
