NLSIU - Three Day Certificate Course in Health Law and Medical Negligence
The Distance Education Department at National Law School of India University is going to organize a three day Certificate Course in Health Law and Medical Negligence.
Dates: 12th - 14th June, 2015
Venue: Academic Block, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru
Who can attend?
The Course is designed for Medical professionals, Hospital Administrator, Chief Medical Officers, Doctors, Paramedical Professionals, Professors in Medical Institutions, Medico-Legal Practitioners who are familiar with legal issues and challenges facing the medical fraternity.
The aim of the course is to equip the participants with the concepts, principles of Medical Law and ethics and to examine issues and challenges on 'Medical Negligence'. Those interested in gaining knowledge, skill and expertise in medicine and law must attend. Attendance is compulsory and on completion of the course, the participant will be awarded with a certificate from NLSIU. No accommodation shall be provided by NLSIU.
Course Design:
- Day 1: Introduction to Law and Legal system, Interface between Law and Medicine, Medical Ethics and Law, Public Health and Law, Right to Health
- Day 2: Privacy and Confidentiality, Medical Negligence, Defenses in Negligence, Medical records.
- Day 3: Ethical Code and Hospital administration, Emerging areas in Health Law, Role of non-state actors, Ethical Committee, Clinical trial and Law
