UPES 1st Youth Parliament 2015

Literary and Debating Society, College of Legal Studies, UPES is proud to announce the committees of UPES Youth Parliament 2015; the first of its kind in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. We would appreciate your participation in the said event.

Date: 19th - 21st February, 2015
Venue: College of Legal Studies, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, Uttarakhand

  • Lok Sabha: The Lok Sabha would be deliberating on
    • The Lokpal and Lokayuktas and other related Law (Amendment) Bill, 2014;
    • The Major Shift in Foreign Policy of India and it's implications;
    • Discussing the viability of an Anti Conversion Law as proposed by the Government of India.
  • Rajya Sabha: The Upper House of the Parliament shall debate and discuss two major bills that are pending:
    • The Constitution (119th Amendment) Bill, 2013 (India Bangladesh border agreement);
    • The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2014.
  • All India Parties Meet:
    • Review of article 370 of the Constitution of India
    • Naxalism as a threat to national integration
    • Making way towards a uniform civil code.
