National Seminar on Right to Education: Issues and Challenges
The Faculty of Law, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is hosting a National Seminar on "Right to Education: Issues and Challenges" as a part of the celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III
Date: 16th February, 2013
Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, ruler of the erstwhile Baroda State was not only a just and noble king but also a visionary and a social reformer. He heralded various social reforms, advocating the cause of education for women and fought against social evils prevalent in the society by practice and not by preaching.
Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, recognized the fact that education would not only emancipate women, but would also help society transcend the various barriers that stops us in imbibing the true spirit of mankind. This realization made him a champion crusader of 'Education for all', for education would make the State, the Nation and the World, a better place to live in. This dream of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, was brought to fruition by Maharaja Pratapsingh Gaekwad, when he founded the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1949.
