Professional Development Programmes for Law Teachers

National Law School of India University in association with Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training, Trivandrum is conducting an Intensive Study Programme / Refresher Course for Mid-Level Teachers on Law, Science and Technology at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Course Duration: 3 days (February, 2013)

This course on identified subject areas is intended for middle level law teachers who have experience in teaching those subjects for at least three years. It may take-up teaching of these subjects in post-graduate education as well. The idea is to reflect critically on current developments in the law and to examine alternate strategies for better instruction. The idea is to prepare students for the challenges ahead in the legal market and justice needs. It will look at curriculum/syllabii, pedagogy, study materials, research-based learning, evaluation, law school management, co-curricular activities etc. for capacity development.

The course is residential for a period of 3 days for 20 to 25 teachers only. Two such programmes are proposed for 2012-13, one at NLSIU, Bangalore in September, 2012 and the other at National Law University, Hyderabad in February, 2013. The Bangalore course will be around Child Rights and Juvenile Justice while the Hyderabad course will be on Law, Science and Technology. Expenses on boarding and lodging will be borne by the organizers. There is no registration fee.

How to apply?
The courses have limited seats and are completely residential and fully paid for by the IBA-CLE Chair of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. There is no registration fee and teachers/advocates selected for participation have to meet only their travel expenses to the venue of the programme. Part of the course is by way of preparation for effective participation for which study materials and instructions will be sent in advance to the selected candidates.
