National Seminar on Law, Policy and Regulation on Civil Aviation in India: Contemporary Issues and Challenges

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai P.G. & Research Studies, Department of International Law and Legal Order is organizing a one day National Seminar on "Law, Policy & Regulation on Civil Aviation in India: Contemporary Issues and Challenges" on the eve of International Civil Aviation Day.

Date: 7th December, 2012
Venue: Auditorium, P.G. and Research Development Block, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai

Themes of the Seminar:
The broad objectives of the seminar are:

  • To examine the contemporary issues on the Civil Aviation in India;
  • To evaluate the report of working group on civil aviation in the formulation of 12th Five year plan 2012-2017;
  • To analyse the proposed suggestions for Civil Aviation laws with that of ICAO, GATS and other International Conventions;
  • To analyze the safety and security measures in the Civil Aviation;
  • To throw light on the emerging Environmental issues and regulation of Civil Aviation in India;
  • To study the Airline liability, Insurance, leasing, tax implications in the Civil Aviation;
  • To examine a legal framework for the Regulatory authority of Civil Aviation in India;
  • To analyze the importance of the role of egovernance in Civil Aviation.

The Registration fee includes registration and background material, refreshment and food during the seminar. It does not include the cost of accommodation and travel. Registration fees must be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University and payable at Chennai.

Call for Papers:
An abstract of not more than 300 words including the paper title, name of author/s and designation should be sent on or before 20th November, 2012. The full research paper shall be 3000-5000 words including footnotes in MS-Word 2007, Times New Roman - 12 with 1.5 line spacing; Footnote -10 in Bluebook 19 th edition format with single spacing on A4 size paper and a soft copy should be sent by e-mail to Seminar Director Dr. V. Balaji at on or before 30th November, 2012. An advisory committee consists of faculty members shall scrutinize the abstract and the Full paper.
