Patna Law College to introduce five-year integrated BBA LLB Course
Patna Law College, a constituent unit of Patna University (PU), is likely to introduce five-year integrated BBA LLB course from the next academic session. Necessary preparations for starting the course have already been started by the authorities concerned.
PU's Academic Council has already accepted the proposal for starting the course as per the recommendations of the Bar Council of India, Patna Law College principal Rakesh Verma added. The new course would have semester system instead of the annual pattern of examination.
The college will soon have a library-cum-seminar hall on its premises with the help of financial aid received from the state government. The demand for introducing five-year legal education in the college was also raised at its centenary celebrations held recently. Meanwhile, the college has already switched over to semester system in its three-year LLB course. A formal approval of the ordinances and regulations of the semester system is likely to be received from the chancellor's office soon.
It may be mentioned here that the popularity of this college has declined considerably after the establishment of Chanakya National Law University in Patna. This college is still following the traditional three-year LLB course. However, an entrance test was introduced recently for admission to this course in this college, said the principal.
