Kerala to set up country's first IPR Academy soon
The State government will go ahead with the proposal for setting up an Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Academy.
Announcing this in the state assembly, finance minister Mr. K.M. Mani, said that the ongoing processes and procedures for this would be speeded up. Replying to a submission in this regard by Congress Member V.D. Satheesan, the finance minister said the state would also consider the scope of introducing a Special Wing in the IPR to protect the right of traditional knowledge in the country.
The minister recalled that a proposal for the academy, purported to be the country's first, had been included in the previous state budget. Suitable location for a campus for the academy would be identified soon, he informed the House.
