Conclave of Law Teachers and Students working on Issues of Social Justice, Poverty, Legal Aid, Access to Justice and Experiential Learning
Jindal Global Law School, with technical support from Institute of Rural Research and Development, West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), and Faculty of Law of University of Delhi is organizing a national conclave of law teachers and students working on issues of social justice, poverty, legal aid, access to justice and experiential learning of law to strengthen efforts of justice education by sharing of experiences and concerns, learning by participating in collaborative work and mobilizing support for justice education from various bodies like Bar Council of India, National Legal Services Authority, Haryana State Legal Services Authority, University Grants Commission, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Ministry of Law and Justice and Ministry of Rural Development (Government of India) etc.
Participants:
The conclave will have students and teachers (full time and part time both) participating in equal numbers.
Format:
The conclave will have discussions, workshops, field visits, writing tasks, cultural events, sports etc. for learning, rejuvenating, and building of bonhomie.
Dates:
11th - 14th July, 2012. Participants will arrive on 10th July and depart on the evening of 14th July.
Venue:
Jindal Global Law School will host the conclave in its campus at Sonipat where all participants will be provided accommodation. IRRAD will support field visits, providing opportunity to participants to engage with villagers working on issues of rural governance and justice.
Logistics:
The organizers will arrange accommodation and local hospitality. The participants will bear the cost of their travelling.
Registration:
Registration for participation closes on 25th June, 2012. Those interested to participate must send a mail to clinicalprogrammes@jgu.edu.in to obtain registration form latest by 20th June, 2012.
