Assam University - Admission for B.A. LLB (Hons.) and LL.M
The Department of Law under the School of Social Sciences started functioning in July, 2004. The department offers a five-year integrated course leading to the degree of B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). In the year 2011 an LL.M. Programme has been started in the department.
Eligibility for Admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.):
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent (10+2) examination in Arts, Science or Commerce with at least 50% marks in aggregate as well as at least 50% in English (45% in case of SC/ST) separately are eligible for admission. The minimum age for admission in Law is 18 years. It may be relaxed up to 21 years of age as on 1st July, 2011 for general candidates. In the case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, the upper age limit would be 23 years as on 1st July, 2011.
Eligibility for Admission to LL.M:
Candidates who have passed the Three Year LL.B. Degree Examination of this University or such examination of any other university or institution after Graduation [under 10+2+3 pattern] or Five year LL.B. Degree course under 10+2+3 pattern; and have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in the LL.B. examinations.
