Certificate Course on Environmental Law and Policy
We at Centre for Environmental Law, Policy and Development believe that formulating good laws and policies is the key to creating impact at a larger level. This course aims to nurture budding environmental activists into powerful change - makers by training them in how they can actively use policies to widen their impact at a national level.
As human population expands, economic development proceeds and new technologies arise, society faces more complex and previously unknown environmental problems. These problems need to be addressed in the context of an increasingly globalized economy where significant differences of environmental quality and quality of life persist. Already existing regulatory structures add another layer of complexity.
Through this bi - yearly distance - learning course, students will grasp the general theory of Environmental Law, as well as establish a foundation for further research in this discipline. This course aims to cultivate students' ability to consider and analyze from a philosophical level the vast number of issue concerning environmental laws.
The course will be over a period of 6 weeks and will consist of 4 modules. Each module will be emailed to the students on their registered email address sequentially, subsequent to which they will be sent Assessment Papers. On the successful completion of each Assessment Paper, the students will be marked and graded. Only those who score a total of 40% in total will be eligible to receive Certificates.
