The Indian Law Institute (ILI) was founded in 1956 primarily with the objective of promoting and conducting legal research. The Indian Law Institute has been granted Deemed University status in 2004 vide Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. F.9-9/2001-U.3 dated 29.10.2004

LL.B. Degree 9with not less than 50% marks) recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India.
Or
A Law Degree from a foreign country with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. |
LL.M. (Evening) - 3 year course |
LL.B. Degree with not less than 50% marks from a recognized university. |

Minimum qualification for admission to the P.G. Diploma Courses except for Labour Law is a graduate degree from a recognized University. 5% weightage will be be given to the law graduates for admission to all Post Graduate Diploma Courses.
The minimum requirement for admission to the P.G. Diploma Course in Labour Law is a law degree or M.A. in social sciences (IInd Division) |
Admission Procedure:
Separate application form is to be filled by the candidates for admission to LL.M. - 2 year course & LL.M. (Evening) - 3 year course.
However, there will be a Common Admission Test (CAT) for both the programmes. Separate merit list will be drawn for LL.M. - 2 year and LL.M. (Evening) - 3 year Course.
Admission to LL.M. programmes shall be made on merit based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the CAT to be held on 23rd June, 2012 (Saturday) and performance during Group Discussion & Viva-Voce to be conducted by the Institute after CAT.
Group Discussion and Viva-Voce:
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained by them in the CAT and shall be called form group discussion and viva-voce to be conducted at the Indian Law Institute.
List will be notified on the website of the Institute. No separate communication would be sent. Final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in CAT, group discussion and viva-voce, I.E., out of maximum of 200 marks.
Separate merit list will be drawn for LL.M - 2 year and LL.M - 3 year course; group discussion and viva-voce are integral parts of the selection process. If the candidates called for group discussion & viva-voce do not appear for the same, they shall not be considered as eligible for admission.
