A.P. University of Law - Admission for LL.M (Maritime Law) and LL.B LL.M (Dual Degree) Programme

LL.M (Maritime Law) - 2 year Programme:
The primary objective of AP University of Law is to groom law graduates to become competent legal professionals in the field of Maritime Law. The University also believes that it should cater to the needs of different sections of the society. The academic programmes are designed with this perspective. Realizing the fact that there is a dearth of competent young lawyers in the Maritime Law, A.P. University of Law is commencing a two year LL.M (Maritime Law) programme from the academic year 2012-2013.

Eligibility:
The candidate must qualify the "APULCET (PG) - 2012" to be conducted by the University on 24th June, 2012.

Candidates must secure minimum 40% marks in the entrance test. For SC and ST candidates the qualifying marks are 35%. Qualified candidates will be selected on the basis of merit. In addition, to be eligible for admission to 2 Year LL.M (Maritime Law) Programme, a candidate should have passed the LL.B. / B.L. degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in the aggregate (50% in case of reserved categories, i.e. SC/ST/Persons with Disability). The Candidates appeared/appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible subject to the condition that he/she should have passed with minimum prescribed marks at the time of counseling.

Age:
In case of General / BC candidates should not be more than 27 years as on 1st July, 2012. 29 years in case of SC / ST / PWD Candidates.

Candidates with BAL and BGL are not eligible for applying to 2 year LL.M. (Maritime Law).

The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission into the law courses.

All candidates seeking admission should note that 2 Year LL.M (Maritime Law) programme is purely full-time, regular and residential course.

LL.B, LL.M (Dual Degree) - 4 year Programme:
It is a dual degree course, very flexible, with an exit option after completion of three years. Students who qualify will be eligible to get a LL.B degree after completion of three years. They have a choice to opt out. Those who wish to continue will get LL.B. LL.M (Dual Degree) upon qualifying. The continuation of students in LL.M will depend on overall performance of the students and will be based on the recommendations of the committee constituted for this purpose and as per rules laid down by the university. They can also pursue LL.M within India or abroad based on MOUs signed with other Universities/ Institutions.

Eligibility:

The candidates appeared/appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible subject to the condition that he/she should have passed with minimum prescribed marks at the time of counseling.

Age:
In case of General / BC candidates should not be more than 23 years as on 1st July 2012, 25 years in case of SC / ST / PWD candidates.

The candidates seeking admission should note that 4 Year LL.B. LL.M. (Dual Degree) Programme is purely full-time, regular and residential course.

Admission Procedure:
Eligible candidates, may apply to the Registrar, A.P. University of Law in the prescribed form, which can be downloaded from this website www.apulvisakha.org along with a fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) by Demand Draft drawn n any nationalized bank, in favour of "Registrar, A.P. University of Law" payable at Visakhapatnam and submit the same duly filled in within the stipulated time (04-06-2012) either in person or by post to: The Registrar, A.P. University of Law, Palace Layout, Pedawaltair, Visakhapatnam, 530017. The above fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
