One Day National Seminar on Digital Technology and Intellectual Property Rights
The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, Chennai ("TNDALU") together with World Intellectual Property Organization ("WIPO") and IP specialists, lawyers, academicians, researchers and students across the globe are happy to join in celebrating the WORLD IP DAY on 26th April, 2012. In this regard, to commemorate the momentous day, the PG Department of Intellectual Property Law, TNDALU is organizing a one day National Seminar on the theme "Digital Technology and Intellectual Property Rights" keeping in mind the theme of WIPO for the year 2012 "Visionary Innovators."

The seminar seeks to bring in academicians, experts, researchers and students from all over the country to exchange their expertise, knowledge and experience in the area of IP with specific reference to digital technology in an attempt to generate fresher perspectives, newer questions and reasoned answers.
Sub Themes:
- Copyright and the digital age, including issues of access; privacy; liability of ISPs; jurisdiction; protection of databases; and licensing
- Trademark and the digital environment, including concept of metatags; keywords; domain names; and territoriality
- Patents in the digital world, including business method patents; software patents; prior art effects; scope of patentable subject matter; and enforcement of patents
- Trade secrets in the digital age.
Call for Papers:
Well researched and well documented papers will be permitted for presentation in the National Seminar. Full papers can be brought and presented in the Seminar.
Papers on the identified sub-themes (between 15 to 20 pages in MS Word typed in double space on A4 size) with the abstract (not exceeding 300 words) should reach latest by 23rd April, 2012 to:
