IIT Kharagpur: Master's in Public Policy, Law and Governance - Admission 2025

The Master's in Public Policy, Law and Governance (MPPLG) is a two-year, full-time programme designed to provide students with an integrated understanding of the intersections between public policy, legal frameworks, and governance structures. Offered through four semesters, this programme equips graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and shape the evolving landscape of policy anad governance, both within India and globally.

Eligibility:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering /Law / Medicine/Commerce/Arts. (Not less than four years);
• 65% or 7 CGPA for General/OBC/EWS category and 60% or 6.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD in qualifying examination with first class in all preceding degrees/examinations;
• Not exceeding 30 years for General/OBC/EWS; and 35 years for SC/ST/PwD respectively; as on 1st January 2025.
• Age may be relaxed in case of working executives up to 03 years' experience;
• Preference will be given to female candidates;
• Preference will be given to those with work experience.

Note: The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree awarding institute provides marks in CGPA system. Then, the admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10.0, the eligibility of the candidate will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence stated above.

Examination Details:
Selection will be based on:

• Written Test - Computer based (02 hrs duration)
• Group Discussion
• Personal Interview

For Written Test: All questions are Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type and carry 1 mark each. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
