Admission Procedure for candidates appearing in ILAT 2010

Admission into the Law Programs (3-year LL.B Program & 5-Integrated BBA, LL.B (Hons)) Program is through ILAT 2010 conducted by Faculty of Law, Dehradun. ILAT 2010 is scheduled on July 04, 2010 (Sunday) from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM at 35 test centers all over India. Applicants are required to report at 9.00 AM at the test center on the day of ILAT 2010.

Applicants interested in applying for the admission test for the Law Programs can avail any one of the following registrations facilities available through the web.
(a) Fill and submit the Application Form available on website online, making a payment of Rs. 300/- towards registration fee using credit card (Visa/Master Card/ Citibank Card) through the secure internet payment gateway.
(b) Download the Application Form, complete it, and send it to 'The Admissions Officer, Law Programs, Faculty of Law, The ICFAI University, Dehradun, Rajawala Road, Central Hope Town, Selaqui, Dehradun - 248197, Uttarakhand' along with a demand draft for Rs. 300/- towards registration fee (in favor of "IUCF A/c IUD" payable at Dehradun).
Last date for receiving the duly filled in application form is June 19, 2010.

The Admission Test is based on objective type questions in multiple choice format. The answers have to be given in the specially designed OMR answer sheet, which will be provided at the time of admission test. There will be 150 questions in all, divided into five sections of 30 marks each. These sections are English Language, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, Numerical Ability and Reasoning.

Online Admit Card (For ILAT 2010 only):
All applicants who have submitted their filled in application forms for ILAT 2010 have to download online admit cards progressively from June 12, 2010 onwards at website using the five digit application number and date of birth as user name and password respectively. The online admit card will carry the photo, name, address, roll number of the applicant and the test date, timings and details of the test center. No hard copies of admit cards will be sent by post. The admit card is not transferable to any other person and is valid only for the test centers for which it is issued. Impersonation is a punishable offence under law.

Test Centers (For ILAT only):
The applicants can choose any one of the 35 test centers available for ILAT 2010. Please note that requests for change of test center will not be entertained under any circumstances. The same will be intimated on website. Applicants have to select any one test center for writing ILAT 2010 and indicate the test center and the corresponding code in the Application Form.

ILAT Results:
Results of ILAT 2010 will be announced on the website at 8 PM (IST) on July 10, 2010. The successful applicants will also be individually intimated through web/post.

Admission Procedure for students applying based on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2010/LSAT, India 2010:
Students may also be admitted to the program based on their score in CLAT 2010 conducted by NLIU, Bhopal India [applicable for BBA, LL.B (Hons.) Program only]. Faculty of Law also accepts the scores of LSAT, India conducted by Pearson, VUE.Candidates applying for admission on the basis of CLAT 2010/LSAT 2010 are not required to write ILAT 2010. However, they may also appear for both ILAT 2010 and CLAT 2010/LSAT 2010, in order to enhance the chance of getting admission in Faculty of Law, Dehradun. All candidates seeking admission based on CLAT 2010/LSAT 2010 have to indicate their CLAT /LSAT application number in the ILAT application form. They also have to submit the scorecard on or before July 23, 2010. Please note that the selection of the candidates will be withheld in case of non-receipt of the CLAT /LSAT scorecard before the due date.

All applicants are mandatorily required to indicate their e-mail ID, as all important information relating to ILAT 2010 will be intimated to the applicants by e-mail. Similarly all applicants are required to send their letters/correspondence by e-mail only to:

Admission Decision:
The applicants who have cleared ILAT 2010 will be sent selection letters from Faculty of Law and will be given Provisional Admission. The provisional admission will be confirmed on or after August 02, 2010 after checking the following criteria.

Payment of Fee:
Provisionally admitted students will have to pay the first semester fee by July 31, 2010.
The provisional admission will be deemed to be confirmed for the provisionally admitted candidates fulfilling the required eligibility criteria. For those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria will be informed about cancelling their provisional admission.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates have to submit their original certificates for verification on August 02, 2010 at Faculty of Law, Dehradun and complete the verification process for the required eligibility criteria. For any extension of this date, the applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their Graduation examinations. The aggregate percentage of marks secured by the applicant at Graduation will be determined based on the procedure used by the respective board and the same should be at least 50%.
