Justice P.N. Bhagwati 2nd International Moot Court Competition on Human Rights
The moot court competition will be held on 25th & 26th February, 2012 at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University New Law College, Pune.
Hon. Justice P.N.Bhagwati was one of the eminent judges of the Supreme Court and retired Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India. He is the authority in law and in particular on Human Rights in International Law. The above Moot Court Competition is held in his name by his consent.
Justice P.N. Bhagwati 1st Moot Court Competition for UG students received an overwhelming response and was inaugurated by Hon. Justice Shivraj V. Patil, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and the Valedictory function was presided over by Hon. Shri. Ujjwal Nikam, Special Public Prosecutor, Mumbai Terror Attacks.
The Competition for PG students was inaugurated by none other than Hon. Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, the then Union Minister for Law & Justice, in the august presence of Hon. Justice P.N. Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Member, UNHRC and H.E. Gudmundur Eirikkson, Former Judge at International Tribunal for the law of Sea and Ambassador of Iceland to India.
