Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition

The Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee at School of Law, Christ (Deemed to be University) is going to host the 6th edition of its annual flagship event, National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition (NTAC).

About the Competition:
In the previous editions, National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition has witnessed participants from law schools across the country and has successfully contributed to the promotion of a trial culture and criminal litigation. NTAC prides itself for being a one of a kind trial experience which helps in honing one's research skills, and overall prowess of courtroom etiquette.

Eligibility:

  • The competition shall be open for all students who are pursuing a three or five year LL.B. Degree Course in any Universities / Colleges / Law Departments in India, as recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • The participants should send a picture of their University ID Card for verification.

Registration Procedure:
The participation in the 6th SLCU National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition is restricted to 40 teams only. Institutions / Teams interested in participating in the competition will have to provisionally register by sending an email to: criminallaw.committee@law.christuniversity.in and only after confirmation of provisional slot by the Organizers, should they complete the formalities of the final registration. The slots shall be reserved based on a 'first come' basis for the first 40 teams.

The teams through their respective Official College Email ID or any other recognized student association Email ID. Once the teams have provisionally registered then the teams will be sent a confirmation mail providing them the link for the Final Registration.

Only the teams who have received confirmation of provisional registration after receiving an email from the Committee must submit the registration form. Kindly note that only one team per College / Institution / University shall be permitted to take part in the Competition.

Last day for Final Online Registration 31st December, 2020
Last day for Payment of Registration Fee 10th January, 2020
Last day for Seeking Clarifications regarding the Trial Proposition 10th January, 2021
Last day for Submission of List of Witnesses 10th January, 2021
Release of Clarifications 14th January, 2021
Inauguration, Procedure Test and Draw of Lots 29th January, 2021
Preliminary Rounds 1 and 2 29th January, 2021
Judgment Writing Competition, Quarter Final Rounds and Semi-Final Rounds 30th January, 2021
Final Rounds and Valedictory Ceremony 31st January, 2021
