Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur - Admission 2019

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to 3 year LL.B and 2 year LL.M programme at Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur for the academic year 2019-20.

Courses offered:

  • LL.B (Hons.) in IP - 3 year Programme
  • LL. M. - 2 year Programme

Eligibility

LL.B (Hons.) in IP - 3 year Programme:

  • First Class Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or equivalent.
  • First Class Masters Degree in Science or Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • First Class MBA Degree with any of the above
  • The requisite qualifying marks for admission to postgraduate and research programmes of the Institute are CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60% marks for GE / OBC candidates (these are CGPA 6.0 and 55% marks for SC / ST / PWD candidates). The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree awarding institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10.0, the eligibility of the candidate will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence stated above.

LL. M. (Master of Law) - 2 year Programme

  • First class (or equivalent) in Bachelor of Laws LL.B. / B.L. (5 years) program from any recognised University - or -
  • First Class (or equivalent) in Bachelor of Laws LL.B. / B.L.(3 years) program from any recognised University along with Bachelor's Degree (not less than 3 years) in Humanities / Science / Commerce or equivalent.
  • Students having LL.B (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law from the IIT Kharagpur with CGPA of 8.5 or above are eligible for admission without appearing in the All India Common Entrance Examination (CET).
  • The requisite qualifying marks for admission to post graduate and research programmes of the Institute are CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60% marks for GE / OBC candidates (these are CGPA 6.0 and 55% marks for SC / ST / PWD candidates). The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree awarding institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. Admission Procedure:
Applicants are required to apply online. Application fee is Rs. 2500/- for General / OBC and Rs. 1250/- for SC / ST candidates..

The institute reserves the right to cancel or change test centres. The changes, if any, will be notified to candidate well in advance.
