Indian Journal of Law and Technology (Vol. XII): Call for Papers
The Indian Journal of Law and Technology (IJLT) is a student-edited, peer-reviewed, open access law journal published annually by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. IJLT is the first and only law journal in India devoted exclusively to the study of the interface between law and technology.
The journal as per its mandate carries scholarship in the areas of intellectual property rights, internet governance, information communication technologies, access to medicines, privacy rights, digital freedoms, openness, telecommunications policy, media law and innovation, etc, with an emphasis on a developing country perspective or a comparative approach that benefits the developing world. A second issue in each volume carries perspectives on contemporary issues affecting society around the world at the intersection of law, technology, industry and policy.
The editorial board besides publishing the journal also organises several events to promote interest and scholarship in the field of law and technology. The IJLT hosts an annual lecture series in partnership with the Centre for Internet and Society and has hosted essay competitions in association with the Software Freedom Law Centre. To promote understanding and appreciation for the impact of technology on society, law and policy, the editorial board publishes a periodical newsletter covering developments in the world of law and technology. In the past IJLT has also collaborated with CPR South to organise a short course on broadband policy in India as a precursor to the CPR South 8 Conference. Besides the above, the journal also provides research and editorial assistance to academics for projects they are currently engaged in.
