Proposed Book on Energy Law and Policy in India: Call for Submissions

In continuation of the mandate that was proposed during the two day National Seminar on "Energy Policy and Law in India", conducted by the Centre for Environmental Law Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA), National Law School of India University, on 9th and 10th July, 2015, the CEERA, proposes to come up with a book titled "Energy Law and Policy In India". Contributions are invited in the forms of Articles, Case Comments from Law Teachers, Practitioners, Researchers, Consultants, Students and others.

  • Energy Law and Policy Mechanisms in India
  • Energy Law and Environmental Concerns
  • Power Purchase Agreements
  • Energy Security: National and International
  • Regulatory Mechanisms in Energy Sector; CERA, GDHC and others
  • Energy Law and interface with common man: Consumer and Energy
  • Judiciary in the coal block allocation case and Reliance gas pricing
  • Privatization and Energy Sector: PPP and other models
  • Renewable Energy Policy and the way forward
  • Energy Conservation Act and its impact
  • Electricity Act and its implementation in India
  • Atomic Energy
  • Law of taxation in Energy Sectors
  • FDI in Energy Sector
  • Energy Trade and WTO
  • Dimensions of the Human Rights in Energy Sectors,

Submissions, under the following categories, are welcome.

  • Long Articles: between 5000 and 8000 words including footnotes
  • Short Articles: between 2500 and 3000 words including footnotes
  • Case Comments and case summaries
  • General write-up and comments

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions are to be made only in electronic form. They are to be sent to bhatsairam@nls.ac.in.
  • Details about the author(s), including qualifications and Institutional affiliations, if any, are to be mentioned in the covering letter. Co-authorship (up to 3 authors) is permitted.
  • Only original works need to be sent. It is presumed that, once the work has been sent, that it is the original work of the author(s) so named and that it has not been published anywhere else.
  • All work need be sent in MS Word format (.doc or .docx)
  • The author(s) should maintain a Uniform Mode of Citation throughout the whole work.

Scope and relevance: The work must be on contemporary legal issues on Energy Law and Policy in India. The language used must be formal and clear, adhering to the submission guidelines.

Review Process:
The submissions received would be reviewed and the Editor(s) would determine whether the subject matter fits within the scope of the topic and also would assess the quality of the manuscript. The decision on publication will be solely the discretion of the Chief Editor and it takes a minimum of 1-2 weeks after the deadline.

Deadline:
The last date for submissions is 15th September, 2015.
